Privacy at Articu.
How speech, account, usage and support data are handled. This page is written to be read—not skimmed.
Last reviewed: October 2026. This policy describes our current practices and design commitments and will be updated as the product launches.
Scope
This policy describes how Articu handles information for the marketing website, pilot program and (when released) the Articu products. It applies to clinicians, clinic staff, caregivers and website visitors. Product-specific child data handling is described in the Child Privacy notice, which takes precedence for child voice data.
Information we collect
- Account data: name, work email, role, organization, country.
- Pilot application data: the fields you complete on the pilot form (professional context only).
- Practice activity: assignments, attempts, structured results and progress information (product).
- Speech recordings: short audio recorded during practice exercises (product), processed to generate structured analysis.
- Support & contact data: messages you send us.
- Usage data: basic technical logs such as page visits and device type.
How information is used
We use this information to operate the service, provide and improve the practice and review workflow, respond to you, and keep the platform secure. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use therapy recordings or service data for advertising.
Audio & speech data
Speech recordings are processed to produce structured findings (target sound, word position, observed pattern, confidence band). The default data-lifecycle design deletes raw audio after analysis and any required clinician review; retention beyond that is an explicit clinician or clinic choice. See the Security page for the full lifecycle.
Service providers (subprocessors)
We use third-party providers for hosting and core infrastructure. Our subprocessor list is maintained—and kept current—on the Subprocessors page.
Model-training and data-improvement policy
Service operation and model training are designed to stay separate. By design, therapy recordings and clinician corrections are not used for model training. Any training use would require a separate, explicit, opt-in consent with the ability to withdraw.
Retention
Retention periods differ by data type: account data for the life of the account plus a wind-down period; raw audio per the data lifecycle above; structured practice results per the clinic’s configured policy. Exact default periods will be published here before the clinical pilot begins.
Security
We apply access control, encryption in transit, and least-privilege practices. See the Security page for what is implemented versus planned—we do not claim certifications that have not been verified.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export or restrict processing of your personal data. Requests can be sent to the contact below; we will verify identity before acting on them.
Children's data
Child voice recordings deserve a stricter standard. See the Child Privacy notice for who manages the child account, what may be recorded, caregiver controls, training choice and deletion.
International transfers
Hosting regions are being finalized. The applicable transfer mechanisms will be published on the Security page before the clinical pilot begins.
Changes
When this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders directly.
